Each class, the Site Visit assignment requires you to look around your current physical location and match that geographical space against what you are learning in class. Report on your site visit in your e-mail to the instructor.
There are no scheduled field strips for the class as a group - unfortunately. The logistics of field trips are too complex to schedule as part of this distance learning class. If you're interested in such classes, check the catalog at the Center for Field Studies for the Virginia From the Ground Up field study courses.
You are strongly encouraged to get "out and about" around Virginia while taking the class. Such expeditions allow you to apply your book learning (e-learning, in this case...) to the real world.
